There are early bird rates for renters coming early in the day and renting for a small private class, workshop or rehearsal. Contact us for these specials. Beautiful well lit open art space in downtown Los Angeles, 1200sq ft and 20ft high ceilings. We have hosted over 20 wonderful art, eclectic, creative, charity/auction events as well as film crews and photo shoot and yes even creative weddings! For professional social/networking events we have a portable bar that can be rented additionally we allow DJ's and small musical acts for entertainment in our space and have a variety of DJ's that we work with. Conveniently located near the 10/110 freeways and 5 minutes from the 5, 60 and 101 freeways. There are 3 different types of lighting choices, natural, romantic/evening or well lit. The 42in flat screen TV that is available for rent can be mounted to the wall at an additional cost and is also USB ready. Smoking is not allowed inside the space but can be done outside of the building. The bathroom is not inside the space but very close by in the main lobby. There is free parking as well as metered street parking and a parking lot directly across the street. We also have one wall on wheels shown in the photos. It can be moved anywhere in the space and one side is black the other side is white. There is also a photo of our projector up, the blue image is an example of one of the walls it can be used on. Tables and chairs may be rented for a small additional fee. For renters taking the day rate it can be included. For additional photos please send us an email. Our day rate is for 7 hours.

The Papillion Institute was a great experience for me and my whole cast and crew. We shot a web pilot there and everything went very smoothly. It was a great deal and Michelle is the best. I highly recommend this as a venue for whatever event you're looking to put on.

The gallery space was perfect for my Art Show/fundraiser. Michelle was very accomodating in answering all my questions up until the event and they were very accomodating during the event. They were also very professional and the process was very seemless. We touched via email, I met with her, gave her the deposit, had the signed contract and gave her the remaining balance two days before my event. I would recommend this space to others. Thanks.

I had my very first art show in Los Angeles at the Papillion Institute of Art, and I could not have been more happy and excited to have it hosted there! I rented out the space for just a few days, and Michelle was very eager to help me set up and make sure everything was right for opening night. She even provided an HD TV and DVD player, where I can set up a slideshow of pics of previous work. The space is a very cool one .... a brick wall in a historic Downtown Los Angeles location. It's also very well lit during the day, and with spotlights at night, you can't go wrong! The space is really one where you feed you can show off your own art, but also have the ambience of the decor and the tactile brick contribute to the creativity of the show. It also has good street parking and is conveniently accessible via freeways. A+++ recommend!
